Etagère Parker by Paul Menand

This is a shelf in three parts, which is fixed to the wall thanks to two “branches” through a rectangle. The principle is simple, the attachment system is no longer hidden but is treated as an integral part of the object instead. By shifting the shelf from the wall we get an impression of fragility, yet the object is very solid, very stable, and can support up to 20 pounds without facing any problems. The shelf asserts itself in space by shifting a few inches from the wall in order to display objects which come to store or lay. Bringing to the whole object a particular attention that without this shift would be unnoticed.
