The Ornamental Furniture Project

Los sencillos, funcionales y robustos muebles diseñados por David Horan.

The Ornamental Furniture Project seeks to embrace beauty as a function. From archaeological finds we can see how humans have always sought to beautify their surroundings. This trait is an innate human characteristic demonstrated the world over. Contemporary society considers beautification a shallow concept, Ornamental furniture seeks to exploit aesthetic as a motivation for design.

The collection includes a Desk and Chair with oversized solid pine legs and a thin structural plywood top. The top is finished in graphite pigment. An anodized aluminium Side Table with an orange gold finish. Finally an ambiguous piece of furniture, side table or stool made from solid turned pine and finished with graphite pigment.
