mpgmb is Marie-Pier Guilmain and Maud Beauchamp’s new joint venture. Based in Montréal, Canada, mpgmb embraces a multidisciplinary approach to design, extracting and fusing ideas from a wide range of sources. The duo does not deliberately forge references; instead, it uses these to develop its own language.

Maud and Marie-Pier are inspired by manufacturing processes, craftsmanship, materials, textures, proportions and forms gleaned throughout their travels. They also draw from their everyday discoveries and surroundings. Together, they create an ever-evolving and diverse set of prototypes, self-edited small series and mass-produced objects. Their functional and decorative creations range from jewelry to furniture, lighting, 2D art and beyond.
As a full service design consultancy and studio, mpgmb also offer expertise in research, strategy, branding and design development. Their clients include companies such as Suck UK and ADZIF.
Marie-Pier and Maud met in 2004 while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in industrial design at the Université de Montréal in Canada. They then traveled through Europe together for a few months and spent a semester at L’École de design Nantes Atlantique in France. In 2008, the design graduates began working as a pair with a shared ambition to create a distinctive brand and product line.
Their first achievement was the Canadian Cabin, a flat-packed cardboard cat house that set the tone for what would soon become Loyal Luxe. The new brand was dedicated to designing, manufacturing and distributing fun, daring and affordable pet products.
